Historic Inauguration of the Supreme Council of the Global African Diaspora Kingdom (GADK) Marks a Transformative Moment in Africa-Diaspora Unity

Serere, Uganda – November 23, 2024:
The serene village of Serere etched its name in the annals of history today as the Supreme Council of the Global African Diaspora Kingdom (GADK) was officially inaugurated in a grand ceremony at the Toto Royal Palace. This landmark event signified the establishment of the GADK’s governing body, symbolizing a profound reconnection and unity between Africa and its global diaspora.

A Momentous Occasion Rooted in Pan-Africanism

Presided over by an assembly of African Kings, Queens, over 500 leaders, and dignitaries from across the continent and diaspora, the ceremony was a powerful embodiment of Pan-African ideals, Ubuntu, and the restoration of cultural identity.

In her inaugural address, Her Royal Highness Queen Asianut Acom II (Dr. Hilary Brown), newly installed as President of the Supreme Council, captured the spirit of the event:

“This is a proud moment, an emotional moment—one of great achievement and, most importantly, one of homecoming. After centuries of separation and dislocation, we stand here, not just as individuals, but as a united family reclaiming our rightful place in history. Bayete!”

She was joined by other leaders of the Supreme Council, including Vice President Chief Eric Phillips Siphosezulu of CRC Guyana, Second Vice President Her Royal Highness Queen Jenny Abbensetts Ikatekit (USA), Chief Commissioner Queen Mother Millicent Odhiambo (Kenya), and General Secretary Carla Astaphan (St Kitts)

Honoring Unity Through Symbolism

A highlight of the event was the enstoolment of six esteemed diaspora leaders into royal positions, affirming the enduring bond between Africa and its diaspora. The newly enstooled royals include:

  • Queen Mother Asale II: Mrs. Diana Quarless (Trinidad)
  • Chief Boye: Mr. Richard Quarless (Trindard)
  • Queen Mother Acom V: Dr. Myrna Belgrave (Barbados)
  • Queen Mother Itinot: Elizabeth Ngare (Kenya)
  • Chief Omwene II: Rev. Wells Weyne Anthony (Barbados)
  • Queen Mother Ikatekit I: Her Excellency Margaret Aceger (UK)

Additionally, Elder Chief Solomon Emong was honored as Chief Badula Otebe for his pivotal role in fostering global diaspora unity.

A Spectacle of Heritage and Commitment

The royal procession, led by Kings HRH Paul Sande Emolot, Emorimor Papa Iteso; HRM King Dr. Makorani Mungasse IV of Kenya; HRM Queen Cynthia Puna Mzilikazi II of South Africa; and HM Queen Vickylextar of Omanye, displayed the grandeur of African royalty and culture.

Queen Dr.Hilary Brown Acom II emphasized the GADK’s commitment to preserving African heritage while fostering education, trade, and cultural collaboration for future generations:
“Africa has always been the cradle of civilization. Today, we celebrate her resilience, diversity, and boundless potential. Together, we will rewrite Africa’s narrative.”

A Movement of Healing and Empowerment

This historic ceremony, held in Serere—birthplace of  the president of AIDO and chairman of the GADK—underscored a commitment to addressing the legacy of colonialism and slavery through education, healthcare, and cultural preservation.

As Queen Dr.Hilary Brown Acom II concluded:
“We honor our ancestors, celebrate our present, and march boldly into a future where every African child can realize their full potential. Ubuntu will guide us forward.”
